Social Skills Development Program
The purpose of this program is to help participants have an understanding of social thinking skills, appropriate conversational skills, and friendship skills, to promote successful social outcomes.
Each program consists of lessons, modelling, engaging activities and meaningful interactions in a small groups learning environment (10 participants per group).
Participants will be grouped based on their age and skill level. There is a mandatory 2 hour parent session prior to the commencement of each level of the program.
Social Thinking classes for children ages 5 to 7 in Okotoks focus on developing their communication and interpersonal abilities. These training programs help kids learn how to communicate effectively in relationships with their peers, family, and friends. The workshops offered by our organization aim to support the social development of youth in Alberta.
For children aged 8 to 11, our Conversational Skills groups provide a structured program that teaches them how to engage in meaningful conversations and build strong relationships. These classes are designed to enhance their ability to communicate effectively and navigate social interactions with confidence.
Similarly, our Friendship Skills courses cater to children aged 12 to 15, offering guidance on building and maintaining healthy friendships. Through these workshops, kids learn valuable lessons on communicating effectively with their peers and developing supportive relationships that last a lifetime.
Our therapists offer expert guidance and support to children with autism or disabilities who struggle socially. We aim to enhance students' social skills for success at school and in the community.
